Desperate Spring

I walked through a field of daffodils
to make my way to the
marigolds.

I am glad I chose you
in these desperate times;
I have always left uncertainty behind.

If I am to suffer
near end of Spring and start of Midsummer,
I hope to suffer with you.

As my grandmother prepares her garden,
I hope she leaves space for our
marigolds.
